Agent Controller Corrupted Zip? [message #74078] Tue, 13 June 2006 15:33 Go to next message

I think the version of the program you're using to make zip files may be
buggy. I'm getting corrupted error files on multiple versions of zip
when I try to download the Agent Controller.

Specifically, the two files I've tried are:
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/tptp/4.1 .0.1/TPTP-4.1.0.1/tptpdc.all_platforms-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip
and
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/tptp/4.1 .0.1/TPTP-4.1.0.1/tptpdc.linux_ia32-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip

I'm getting unzip errors. I'm using Fedora Core 3 on a PIV, with the
built in unzip, UnZip 5.51. I've also tried another linux machine with
UnZip 5.50.

On the FC3 machine, trying to "unzip
tptpdc.all_platforms-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip" I get this error at the end:
------------
linking: tptp/tptpdc/solaris_sparc/lib/libxerces-c.so warning:
symbolic link (tptp/tptpdc/solaris_sparc/lib/libxerces-c.so) failed
error: zipfile probably corrupt (segmentation violation)
------------
The resulting folder only contains tptp/tptpdc/solaris_sparc/ and some
files inside that -- no other folders. Since I'm working in linux that's
not enough I'm guessing.
Unzip 5.50 seems to succesfully unzip this.

When I try to "unzip tptpdc.linux_ia32-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip" I get this
instead, towards the end of the output:
------------
linking: 2/lib/libxerces-c.so warning: symbolic link
(2/lib/libxerces-c.so) failed
error: zipfile probably corrupt (segmentation violation)
------------
On UnZip 5.50, unzip just freezes somewhere in the middle when I try to
"unzip tptpdc.linux_ia32-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip". It's hard to tell if it's
the same file.

Eventually I was able to get it to unzip by unzipping the
tptpdc.all_platforms-TPTP-4.1.0.1.zip on the old linux machine and then
tarballing it and moving it over to my newer machine. But I suspect the
zip program you're using be doing something odd.

I have tested both zip files you mentioned in your message, and I could
unzip them both without error. I unzipped the file on a Red Hat
Enterprise Linux AS release 4, running UnZip 5.51. Sometimes the files are
corrupted during download. Please try to download the files again and run
unzip again.
