Exporting from Ganymede and importing in Galileo [message #71083] Fri, 24 July 2009 13:23 Go to next message

Hello!
I have the following configuration:
- Ganymede with Mylyn 3.2.1 pointing to workspace1
- Galileo with Mylyn 3.2.1 pointing to workspace2
I would like to export my task list and contexts from workspace1 and
import into workspace2.

In Ganymede I do File | Export | Task List and Contexts and I select a
directory to save to.

In Galileo I do File | Import | Task List and Contexts and I select the
previously saved file.

The task list is imported but... not all tasks are imported! And not all
categories are there!
If I use my file manager and look at the exported file (it is named
mylyn-v3-data-2009-07-24-150850.zip) I do find the missing tasks and
categories, but Galileo does not show them.

There are two missing categories (one for local tasks and one for a
bugzilla repository tasks), while other local tasks categories and other
bugzilla repository categories have been successfully imported (so it
does not seem to be a problem of the repository the categories were
linked to). Moreover, one category of local tasks have been imported,
but only part of its tasks are shown by Galileo.

Any hint? Thanks in advance.

Mauro.

Very strange... I just did the following: suppose in Ganymede I have
Category1 with a local task called Task1 inside. Suppose this is one of
the categories that Galileo didn't import correctly. I then tried to
create in Galileo a new category called Category1 (same name!) and then
a new task called Task1 (again, same name!) inside it: I activated this
new task and... Galileo tried to restore the context of the old Task1
task I had in Ganymede!

So, it seems that Galielo did try to import that category/task, but
didn't fully succeed, however it has some reference to it...

Maybe Mylyn didn't import all of my tasks and contexts data because in
workspace2 I don't have all the projects I had in workspace1?
