I am trying to connect Mylyn to a Jira instance through a rather tough firewall. From home I can do this with no trouble.

With Eclipse Indigo I cannot fetch any connectors at all. Instead I get a "Problem Occurred" dialog with the message:

Failed to discover all connectors.
RemoteBundleDiscoveryStrategy failed with an error
IO failure: cannot load discovery directory
Cannot download http: //www.eclipse.org/mylyn/discovery/directory-3.6.xml: HTTP response 407

Eclipse Galileo can load the connectors (using the same proxy settings) so I get a bit further with this release, but when I try to connect to the Jira instance and create a new query I get the following error:

Could not update filters: Unknown authentication type: CERTIFICATE

It looks as though our firewall needs a certificate to authenticate instead of a username/password, but I can't see any way to specify this in the GUI. Is this supported?

I have no idea what sort of firewall we have or how it is configured.
