I have just created my first chart report and looks OK in Birt Report Viewer however cannot be displayed on remote computer via IE or FireFox.
Chart is showing up in preview or under Run> View Report> In a web viewer
but on local IE or on remote computer is not showing up.
I have searched previous similar topics however could find useful hint to resolve my issue.

I am using BIRT Designer Version 2.6.1 on Windows 2008 / Apache 2.2 / Tomcat7

Your help is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Do you have the viewer deployed to tomcat7? What url is the remote computer using to view the report?

Hello Jason,

Sorry for the delay yes i do have Birt Viewer installed in Tomcat, under: D:\tomcat\webapps\Birt

I have also few reports which uses flat file and jdbc connection and present report in a table. I have no problem showing this report and works fine.

When I have created first chart report, i cannot show this on neither local server nor in my PC.

On local server url is:http://172.23.252.104/Birt/frameset?__report=reportDir/clarify/OutstandingTickets.rptdesign
(Clarify is a subdirectory)

However I can display test.rptdesign report which contains few charts on local server and on my pc with no problem.
I have attached 3 files:
error.jpg which shows data in a grid line appears but chart does not.
Birtviewer.jpg shows report under Run> View Report > In a Web Viewer and I should be able to see this report on my local pc as well, but I cannot
testreport.jpg shoes test report with charts is displayed properly

Please let me know if you need further details.

Best Reagards,
Serdar

Serdar,

You may need to log a bug for this. I am not certain what is happening.
Can you try using the /preview servlet mapping instead of /frameset?

Hello Jason,

I have tried with /preview and /run servlet mapping instead of /frameset and right away I got an error mentioning that location of the flat file is unreachable.
This message did not appear when I use /frameset

Indeed file was always there and reachable by BIRT.

I have re-located my source flat file to another directory, modified report settings accordingly and now it works fine, page shows chart as it is supposed to Smile

Your help and prompt answer was much appreciated.

Cheers,
Serdar
