Using changed ajde.jar in plugin project [message #67622] Thu, 02 November 2006 12:03 Go to next message

Hi all,

I am not quite sure if this is the right newsgroup for this, but I have a hopefully simple
configuration problem. The situation is the following: I set up development workspaces for AspectJ
and AJDT following the instructions given here: http://www.eclipse.org/ajdt/developers.php#q:develop
and http://www.eclipse.org/aspectj/doc/released/faq.php#q:buildi ngAspectJAndAJDT. Everything works
fine and I can see changes that I made to org.aspectj.org.eclipse.jdt.core.dom reflected in the
ajde.jar in my AJDT devlopment workspace.

I would like to use the changed ajde.jar in an eclipse 3.2 plugin project, but in the plugin
dependencies dialog I can only select plugins installed in the /plugin dir of my eclipse
installation. Do I have to install or copy my new ajde.jar to the plugin dir or is there maybe
another way to create the plugin dependency from my plugin project to the new ajde.jar? I seem to be
running into trouble if I just add this jar as an external library to
the project and not specifying it as a plugin dependency.

Thanks a lot,

Marc.

Hi,

Never mind. I just found a solution. I exported the ajde, weaver and runtime projects from my AJDT
workspace to deployable plugins and copied them them to the /plugin dir. It seems to work fine.

Best wishes,

Marc.
