Hi

i created preferences pages and i'm trying to save these user preferences in an external file (or in a database). but my problem is that i don't know how to do this properly.

what is the best way to do this when the application is opening (to load the user preferences retrieved from a file or database) and when the application is closing (to save the user preferences) ?

i don't need to create a specific scope, i just want to import and export the same .prefs files created by the application (the instance node for instance).
