Hi all

I am a developer using Epsilon but I am limited in my understanding of
how it works and developing my own code since the source plug-ins for
Epsilon are not available.

I would like to call upon the community to add themselves to the cc list
of Bug 344452 - "Epsilon sources documentation" in order to express our
need to have available the source plug-in for Epsilon in order to do
proper debug sessions without the need of getting the source from the
repository. It is standard practice for all Eclipse projects and one
that is well supported by the Eclipse Platform. If you agree then please
add yourself to the CC list by just:

* logging into Bugzilla,
* making sure the checkbox 'CC List: Add me to CC list " is checked *
and finnally clicking on 'Submit Changes".

Thank you

Don't you mean bug #344451, "Source Code distribution"? Bug #344452 deals with the fact that we don't have much documentation on the internal structure of Epsilon itself.

I would like to see both bugs implemented Smile

For now I grab the plugins folder from SVN repository (sorry, I am not allowed to post links..?!) and use it for the 'Source attachment' of the Epsilon binaries

Had forgotten completely about this bugs! But I do feel, as the OP, that it would be good if more of us show interest so the bug gets a higher priority.

Instead of just using an external SVN checkout, I found an easy way of obtaining source plugins:

  1. Get SVN Checkout (revision 1600 is the 0.9.1 release, I believe)
  2. Import plugins and features into a (clean) workspace
  3. When building is finished, open File -> Export... -> Plugin-in Development -> Deployable Features
  4. Select all features
  5. Select in the destination tab a (output) directory
  6. Check 'Export source' in the Options tab (and deselect all other options)
  7. Click finish: after a while all source plugin and features are available in the output directory
  8. Copy this directory into a dropins directory of Eclipse (eg /usr/share/eclipse/dropins or ~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.org.eclipse.platform_*/dropins)

And the source of the Epsilon framework is available from your own projects!
