Created and exported a local Plugin for accessing sql functions in a BIRT report. The methods are accessible thru Expression Builder, BIRT Functions. The majority of the Report Team uses the Report Designer (only) for report creation and maintenance. Some members have the Full Eclipse Development App as well as the Report Designer only view. We have discovered that only those team members who have the full Eclipse Application and the Report Designer view can see the new method in the Expression Builder of Report Designer. |
Everyone has been instructed to place the plugin in the plugins directories of Report Designer, Framework and Runtime-WEB-INF and Runtime-ReportEngine.
The manifest is as follows:
It is a very simple method accessing a function in the database. There are only two extensions, org.eclipse.vbirt.core.ScriptFunctionService and org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc.driverinfo.
The dependencies are org.eclipse.core.runtime, org.eclipse.birt.core and org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jbdc.
Runtime classpath includes a lib folder containing ojdbc14.jar. That is about it.
