According to this bug https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=195281
it should be possible to use a bundle other than org.eclipse.osgi (e.g. felix) as a system bundle. However, PDE doesn't seem to recognize the felix system bundle or it somehow doesn't detect the system packages it exports. I have noticed that felix and org.eclipse.osgi use different files (profiles) and formats for exporting the system packages. What are the requirements that an OSGi container has to meet in order to help PDE detect the system packages?
