I just saw it in Netbeans IDE. Changing the variable name in the params of a function changes all expressions of that variable in that function. How can I accomplish that with Eclipse PDT? There is a "Refactor->Rename" item in the context menu but it just let me refactor the file name. Thanks in advance.

Is there any feature request or timeline when this function will be implemented? Is there any active development on PDT? I just think that it is a very small addition. I'm just speaking of renaming within a function or method not a whole refactoring process with many files.

Where can I file such requests and maybe let people poll for this? Thanks

PDT is actively developed, but I know that are very much opened tickets a=
nd issues, which must be fixed before refactoring will be implemented. Bu=
t it's very important feature for all.

You can look at issue tracker:

Thanks. I voted for this. This is so essential and cheap to accomplish. Maybe I try it myself Smile

Since PDT is driven by Zend and refactoring is a bonus feature of ZendStudio I'm afraid they'll be blocking this feature from official PDT releases.
Even if someone contributes a community solution ... my guess is they'll reject it ...

Maybe I'm wrong, at least I hope so. But I wouldn't count on it.

My 2 cent.
