Hi friend,
I want to create a new plugin project to define a new language.
So i want to use JavaCC to create his parser and generate the AST: i know that this is possibile ( by googling i learn that IMP has not problem with JavaCC) but there isn't any documentation about this issue...

Since I'm not an excellent programmer can you help me? How can I create a new project like that? Perhaps providing an example already done...

PS i would like to specify that i already have an existing parser write in JavaCC for my custom language: so i guess that i only have to import it on my IMP project but i don't know how.
Please help me Rolling Eyes

hoping that my english is good enough, Thanks in advance.
Andy.

Hi!

Yes, I can post a plugin or two that are the results of my experiment w/ JavaCC in a few
days. [I just came down with the flu, so I don't think I'll get to it before then.]

[Before this attempt, I hadn't even tried using JavaCC in a very long time. I had heard of
someone using JavaCC with IMP at a previous EclipseCon. Unfortunately, I don't remember who
that was.]

I want give you two advices: the former is, don't give up Smile the latter is, try to use XText.
XText is very simple to use if you want to develop a plugin or a new language, also it's well-documented.

See you soon Wink
