I am trying to install the B3 Aggregator from the update site [1] into
Eclipse 3.6.2RC4 without luck. I am getting this error message:
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: b3 Aggregator Editor (Incubation)
0.1.0.r01418 (org.eclipse.b3.aggregator.editor.feature.feature.group
0.1.0.r01418)
Software currently installed: Eclipse SDK 3.6.2.M20110210-1200
(org.eclipse.sdk.ide 3.6.2.M20110210-1200)
Only one of the following can be installed at once:
Core Resource Management 3.6.1.R36x_v20110131-1630
(org.eclipse.core.resources 3.6.1.R36x_v20110131-1630)
Core Resource Management 3.6.0.R36x_v20100825-0600
(org.eclipse.core.resources 3.6.0.R36x_v20100825-0600)
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: b3 Aggregator Editor (Incubation) 0.1.0.r01418
(org.eclipse.b3.aggregator.editor.feature.feature.group 0.1.0.r01418)
To: org.eclipse.b3.aggregator.engine.feature.feature.group
[0.1.0.r01418]
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: b3 Aggregator Engine (Incubation) 0.1.0.r01418
(org.eclipse.b3.aggregator.engine.feature.feature.group 0.1.0.r01418)
To: org.eclipse.core.resources [3.6.0.R36x_v20100825-0600]
As it looks to me, B3 has a very thigth version constraint on
core.resources and SR2 seems to be out of that range - despite the
promise that SRs are supposed to be binary compatible :-(
SR2 isn't released yet. We have no plans supporting the individual release candidates.

That said, I couldn't really understand why you'd get a conflict so I checked deeper and found some (a lot actually)
unnecessary version constraints in our features. They are removed now and the site has been rebuilt so it's highly
likely that you will be able to install now.

Like Michael, I am currently running Helios SR2 and trying to install EGit / JGit. I am still an amateur with Eclipse, have lots of plugins and so would be hesitant to upgrade from Helios.
I had a similar issue as Michael with missing org.kohsuke.args4j. Error message is as follows:
"Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Eclipse JGit Command Line Interface 2.1.0.201209190230-r (org.eclipse.jgit.pgm.feature.group 2.1.0.201209190230-r)
Missing requirement: Eclipse JGit Command Line Interface 2.1.0.201209190230-r (org.eclipse.jgit.pgm.feature.group 2.1.0.201209190230-r) requires 'org.kohsuke.args4j [2.0.0,3.0.0)' but it could not be found"
