Hi All,

I have installed MAT and MAT charts on Eclipse Helios which is a 64 bit one.My JDK is also 64 bit one.

When i try to acquire a heap dump of my process using HPROF jmap dump provider i get the following error.

Error creating heap dump. jmap exit code = 1
7976: Unable to attach to 64-bit process

Please help me to resolve the error.

Thanks and Regards,
Saurav

Hi Saurav,

Could you provide any more details of your environment, eg what platform are you running on (Windows/Linux) and what JRE/JDK are you using for Eclipse/MAT and the target Java application?

Thanks,

It may be that we try to trigger the heap dump using the wrong JDK. Can you try to explicitly configure the 64 bit one to be used? You can do this in the "Aquire Heap Dump Dialog" if you click the "Configure ..." button.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks folks for the replies.
Due to time constraints i moved back to a 32 bit system and its working fine there.
I will check the 64 bit configuration though and will let you know.

cheers,
Saurav
