By default, optional package/bundle dependencies are greedy. Why? [message #649862] Thu, 20 January 2011 18:28

Apologies if this has been rehashed to death somewhere... but I'm
struggling to understand why a bundle's optional package and bundle
dependencies are not automatically marked as non-greedy? I can see how
this would make sense in a featureless environment, but when using
features, don't we want to strictly manage what gets installed? Maybe
I'm misunderstanding the intent behind this. Any pointers would be
appreciated. Thanks!
