Dear Community,

We are deveolping a RCP based Application consisting of more than one feature.

We want to update the features in our application via an update site.

Do you know whats to do?

Here the Problems:

  • the Update Site does not categorize this feauture
the other features(the plugIns) are categorizes as they should be

  • If you uncheck the checkbox item "Group items by category", it does appear, but of cource with the update-sign insteed of the plugIn sign.
When you select it for installation it shows you this message : "The operation cannot be completed. See the details"

Your original request has been modified.
"CORE_FEATURE" is already installed, so an update will be performed instead.
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
    Software being installed: CORE_FEATURE 1.2.1 ( 1.2.1)
    Software currently installed: OUR_APPLICATION 2.3.3 (org.OUR_APPLICATION.application.product 2.3.3)
Only one of the following can be installed at once:
    Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: OUR_APPLICATION 2.3.3 (org.OUR_APPLICATION.application.product 2.3.3)
    To: [1.1.2]
    Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: CORE_FEATURE 1.1.2 ( 1.1.2)
    Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: CORE_FEATURE 1.2.1 ( 1.2.1)

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best Regards,

Did you make it an optional feature that's an installable root? That's
the only way to update a feature that's included as part of a product.

See some of Andrew N's blogs, like ustom-eclipse.html
