VE 1.1 requires VE 2.1? [message #611302]

Hello,

I tried to install VE on Eclipse 3.1.0. But when I select either component
in the "Find and Install" wizard, it says that VE version 1.1 requires VE
version 2.1! Moreover, version 2.1 isn't available to be installed. I know
that VE isn't technically supported on OS X (which is my host OS), but I
wanted to try it anyway just to see how much really doesn't work.

Can anybody explain this strange problem, and how it might be resolved?
Alternatively, can anyone suggest a different plug-in that provides a
PropertySheet-like editor? (At this stage, I only want VE because it has a
UI for manipulating Beans.)
