Hi Folks,

Version 0.7.0 stable of ECF is now available at:
http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/downloads.html

The major new addition for 0.7.0 is an ECF 'call' API. This API is
still being developed, but the intention is to supply a generic VOIP
'call setup' API for client applications to do call setup via Jingle
(JEP-166), SIP, and perhaps other signalling protocols.

See the new API in the org.eclipse.ecf.call plugin. Javadocs for the
org.eclipse.ecf.call and org.eclipse.ecf.call.events packages already
are posted here http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/org.eclipse.ecf.docs/api/
and are included in the ECF programmers guide in the Eclipse help.

There is also a new 'call api' feature included in the set of features
available via the update site, and a new call API zip available via
download page: http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/downloads.html

Please comment on the API. The initial provider implementation will
most likely be based upon Jingle/JEP-166. Those interested can consult
this (still experimental) JEP here:
http://www.jabber.org/jeps/jep-0166.html

Thanks,

Scott

The correct link for Version 0.7.0 stable of ECF is
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technolo gy/ecf/org.eclipse.ecf.sdk-0.7.0.S20060218.zip

In the download page the link is wrong.

Thanks

Hi All,

Note 0.7.1 stable now at:
http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technolo gy/ecf/org.eclipse.ecf.core-0.7.1.S20060220.zip

Although use of the sdk zip is perfectly fine, in postings I generally
give the whole download page: http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/downloads.html
because the preferred download/install method is the update
site...i.e. see "ECF JAR (Java Archive) Files via Eclipse Update
Manager" on the downloads page.

Thanks,

Scott
