I would like to use the generic web repository connector, but I don't know
how to install it.

First, the web site refers to a download section where you should be able
to download it, but I can't find it there. Very annoying. Maybe somebody
could update the site?

After some googling, I found that you're supposed to use Eclipse's update
manager to "http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/extras" (with
or without a trailing slash). When I do that, I get the message:

"No features found on the selected site(s). Choose a different site or
category."

I've also unchecked "Ignore features not applicable to this environment",
but it didn't help.

How can I install the generic connector??
