Hello,

first i posted it to the wrong group....

i read about the ECF project, it sounds very interesting. I have a
question about the goal of the projct. Is it only to offer a
communication framework or also collaborative features. I am especially
interested in something like a shared editor.

greetings
marco

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your inquiry. We have two major goals...1) to create a
useful/popular framework for Eclipse-based communications applications;
2) to provide some communication/collaboration applications on this
framework to 'jumpstart' the usage of the framework.

So, we're trying to balance our work on the framework infrastructure,
and a small set of communications/collaboration applications: chat, IM,
file sharing, shared model editing (using EMF), and a few others. We're
very hopeful that others will contribute work in these app areas as well.

We have identified a shared ECF model editor as one of the first demo
applications (along with team chat, im integration, file sharing, url
sharing) that we are going to deliver.

It's good to hear that you are interested in the shared editor...we will
work as quickly as we can (given we are volunteers) to deliver something
that you could use. Please let us know if you could help out in this
effort in any way.

Thanks,

Scott
