The subject says it all. Just curious, since in my lists ALL entries
display that icon. What is this icon supposed to signal or tell me?

Help => Search and enter "icons", expand the Eclipse list and look for
Execution Statistics, click the Open Link in Help Window and scroll down
to Display Symbols:
"The diamond indicates new occurrences since the last time the Refresh
Views button from the Profiling Monitor view was pressed. "
