I apologize for missing something that must be totally obvious (that's why I can't find it in the docs).

I am developing my own perspective, and I want the RSE view to be a part of it i.e. I want it to be another view along side my own.

So I'm combing the developer guide and I can't find anything resembling the ID to use for the RSE. Wouldn't it go something like this...??

layout.addView(RSEView.ID, IPageLayout.TOP, 0.15f, editorArea);

Where RSEView.ID is the magic bit that I can't find anywhere.

Sorry for being dumb maybe I have been staring at it for too long.

I found the showRSEPerspective method, but I don't want to open the whole perspective. I only want the RSE tree view. Is there really no documented way to do this??

Hi jcb,

I think you want to use this:
SystemViewPart.ID

or more specifically:
"org.eclipse.rse.ui.view.systemView"
