i'd like to make a customized report using data stored on a folder on my own pc folder. i have a windows s.o,

Is this possible without loading data into a db?

Hi Jason,

thank a lot for your interest about my situation Very Happy

i have to make e customized report having some file from evt security log of my own pc.....

the problem is that i don't have a db and i can't install one on my home pc.

So i want to use the file exctracetd on a folder cerated on my pc to make a data source file in order to BIRT recognize the folder like a data base....

I have read some articles about this trick and i have undestood i have to use a java code to do this but i don't know how to make that.

Can you tell me if this is possible and how to make it?

Best regards,

Francesco :D:D:D:D

BIRT does not have to get data from a db. BIRT can read csv, tsv, psv
type files. So if your files are in a delimited format you should be
able to just use the flat file datasource wizard to get your data.
