In my application we are showing tabular data in reports by using Birt report API. Now my requirment is, in one of the column i have to show link say for example "detalis" onclicking on this i have to show details in popup. is this possible in Birt... means showing text as link and point href to uri....?

You can certainly have a hyperlink bring up a new report in a new window. There are examples on the BIRT Exchange of doing drill-through reports that way. Is that not what you're trying to do?
