Hi,
We were using Eclipse3.5 as base for our product and the code for comparing model developed by us was working fine but after changing over to eclipse3.6 compare fails with following exception...

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.eclipse.emf.compare.diff.service.DiffService.getBestDiff Engine(DiffService.java:192)
at org.eclipse.emf.compare.diff.service.DiffService.doDiff(Diff Service.java:101)
at com.intervoice.gtf.compare.viewmodel.ViewModelCreator.create ViewModel(ViewModelCreator.java:168)
at com.intervoice.gtf.compare.viewmodel.ViewModelCreator.<init >(ViewModelCreator.java:113)
at com.intervoice.gtf.compare.viewmodel.ViewModelCreator.create Creator(ViewModelCreator.java:126)
at com.intervoice.gtf.compare.viewmodel.ViewModelCreator.getCre ator(ViewModelCreator.java:141)
at com.intervoice.gtf.compare.mergeviewer.StructureMergeTreeVie wer.inputChanged(StructureMergeTreeViewer.java:308)
at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.ContentViewer.setInput(ContentView er.java:274)

is there any explanation for this.....is there any change in DiffService class from eclipse3.5 to Eclipse3.6?

Thanks All,
Rahul

Hi, we are using Rational Software Architect and emf compare for models we have developed, and we have the same error.
It works fine when is a standalone java project, bur not in a plugin.
Did you find a way to fix your problem?

Thanks.
