public static boolean isMidiAvailable() {
try {
Class.forName("javax.microedition.media.Manager");
} catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
return false;
}
return true;
}

if (MobileGuitarMIDlet.isMidiAvailable() == true) {
try {
midiPlayer = Manager.createPlayer(Manager.MIDI_DEVICE_LOCATOR);
playerName = midiPlayer.toString();
midiPlayer.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
midiStatus = e.getMessage();
} catch (MediaException e) {
midiStatus = e.getMessage();
}
}

The code above throws a 'createPlayer() failed' exception on a Motorola
V3 (CLDC 1.0). Does anybody have an idea why? The device definately has
a midi player.

THX,
Hans
