Before I file a ticket for this, I wanted to check if there is something that I'm missing.

In Galileo, I had a key (ctrl-alt-u) bound to "update" in the SVN category. If I have the focus in the Package Explorer in the project I want, or in the editor for a file in that project, pressing this key would do a SVN update, either on the project or the particular file.

I exported my preferences, including key bindings, and imported that to my Helios workspace. As far as I can see, everything still says that key is still bound to that function. I can even verify the binding with my Emacs+ plugin.

Unfortunately, even though it appears the binding is there, pressing the key does nothing. Nothing shows up in the error log.

Again, this works fine in Galileo, with the same set of key bindings.

Hi!

I am experiencing the same problem. Noticed it in my setup so i tried to reproduce it from scratch:

unzip eclipse Helios RCP/RAP package.
install Subversive via Helios update site.
install svnkit for 1.6
checkout a project.
use default hot keys -> nothing.
Assigning other hot keys will not work either, selecting it via context menus works though.

Hope it's enough to reproduce the Problem.

This is a known problem, there is already an issue for it (well,
actually multiple ones) :-)

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=309074

For subclipse (which suffers from the same problem), there is a
workaround: right-click on the perspective - "Custimoize ..." - "Command
Groups Availability" - add a checkbox to "Team". This has to be done
/for each perspective/ (where the keyboard-shortcuts are needed).

But I don't know if this works for subversive, too.

HTH,
Mark

Very helpful, but this actually didn't do anything. However, when I instead did the same thing for the "SVN" command group, that resolved all the issues I had with binding SVN commands to keys, in both Galileo and Helios.

This is for the Subversive plugin, just so that's clear.

Here's that WORKAROUND, spelled out (for the rest of us):

To get your keyboard shortcuts working for Subclipse (or Team/CVS) in Helios 3.6, do the following:

Menu Window / Customize Perspective... / Command Groups Availability tab:
check the box for SVN (and Team).

You're done--- for the current perspective. Enter other perspectives and repeat, as desired.
