Hello!
As I usually do when a new version of Eclipse is available, I downloaded
the Platform Runtime Library. Once launched, I try to use the update
manager to install the plugins I need.

If I try to install the JDT from the Helios Update Site, for instance, I
get the following error:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=PlatformProfile,
phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=,
action=).

Any hint?

Mauro.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Lots of reports around the 'net over a long period of time about this.

Some appear to be/have been caused by HTTP proxies - but my PC isn't going via a proxy, transparent or otherwise.

I cleared the p2 cache so the most recent resources were fetched:

cd eclipse/p2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.repository/cache/
rm  *.jar
# Cause Eclipse to fetch resources

ls -l *.jar

I tried to use a platform definition (.target) containing the helios
repository. After selecting some contents to use, none of them can be
resolved.

Every entry has an error:

No repository found containing: binary, ...
