Workbench freezes when opening XWT file [message #533197]

I have an existing plugin project which I imported from Galileo into e4 M5 workbench. When I create a new 'UI Element' in this project the e4 workbench freezes when I try to open the .xwt file by double clicking on it. If I create a brand new plugin project and create 'UI Element' in it it opens fine. It is only in this existing project that the file open operation locks up the workbench.

I compared the plugin dependencies between this plugin and a newly created plugin which works and they are all the same. I looked inside the .project files and made them the same. I thought that maybe my existing project doesn't have a 'XWT nature' but I can't find where this would be setup. I restarted workbench with -clean a number of times and each time I get the same result.

What else could be causing this. The workbench freezes with a XWT editor showing 'Loading...' in a upper half of the editor where UI element preview is shown. The bottom editor portion showing XML shows fine. The XWT is very simple. It is what was created by the 'New UI Element' wizard and not modified by hand at all.

Any suggestions how I can fix this are welcome.

Is there any exception in the "Error View" or you log file
<workspace>/.metadata/.log ?
