I just installed the CR4e 2.0 Eclipse package and want to create a report
using a .csv file as one of my data sources. I added the file as an ODA
data source and can thus see it in the Crystal data source explorer, but I
can't seem to do anything else with it. When I try to drag into my report
it won't go. I realize I am missing something basic being a newbie to
Eclipse. How can I create CR4e reports using .csv files?
I'm not familiar with CR4e, and whether it supports any ODA data source
types. Such question is probably best directed to the vendor that provides
CR4e.
BTW, there is an Eclipse top-level project, BIRT
(http://www.eclipse.org/birt ) that does fully integrate with DTP ODA data
source types like cvs flat file. In a BIRT report design, you can define a
data source that references a connection profile created thru the DTP Data
Source Explorer framework; see link for more info on the feature: http://www.eclipse.org/birt/phoenix/project/notable2.3.php#j ump_14
Thanks for the response. FYI, the vendor is Business Objects / Crystal
Reports. I will check to see if they have any info or if I can find a
specific Crystal Reports for Eclipse forum. Thanks for the link to the
helpful BIRT documentation.
