Hi all,
I am developing an Eclipse plugin for managing software architecture
elements in an automated way.

My idea is to:

1) extend the base AM3 meta-megamodel with architectural concepts like
views, viewpoints, stakeholder, concerns, and so on.
2) extend the AM3 Eclipse plugins by adding functionalities specific to
the software architecture field.

I developed the extended meta-megamodel, it is called GMM4SA (the
Eclipse project is attached to this message).
Some element of this metamodel extend GMM metaclasses like TerminalModel
and Metamodel;
for example ArchitecturalModel have some architecture-specific features
and extends the
TerminalModel metaclass in GMM.

The problem I am facing is that when I create an instance of the GMM4SA
metamodel,
I cannot set the features coming from the GMM metamodel, I do not "see"
them.
For example, if I create an instance of ArchitectureModel, I can set the
architecture-related properties
but I cannot set the properties coming from TerminalModel (like __id,
identifier, the conformsTo reference, and so on).

Does anyone have any idea on why this happens? Am I making some wrong
assumption on the megamodeling approach
itself?
I would be very glad if someone gives me some help on this issue :)

You must open the Megamodel Navigator view, which registers then the AM3
metamodel (and any other referenced by AM3 extension).

Hi Ivano,

As stated by Vincent, the AM3 metamodel and all its extensions are registered when the Megamodel Navigator is opened.
The extension point mechanism used by the Generic Editor requires this information in order to know which pages have to be displayed according to the type of the selected megamodel element.
