Hi all,

I get a strange error when trying to export a product that has a VMArgument set that contains a list of strings that a separated by "," (comma):

Invalid action syntax: addJvmArg(jvmArg:-Dorg.osgi.framework.system.packages=com.su n.jimi.core,com.sun.net.ssl,com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl,com .sun.org.apache.xalan.internal,com.sun.org.apache.xalan.inte rnal.res,com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.trax,com.su n.org.apache.xerces.internal.dom,com.sun.org.apache.xerces.i nternal.jaxp,com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.xni,com.sun. org.apache.xml.internal,com.sun.org.apache.xml.internal.util s,com.sun.org.apache.xpath.internal,com.sun.org.apache.xpath .internal.jaxp,com.sun.org.apache.xpath.internal.objects,com .sun.xml.fastinfoset.dom,com.sun.xml.fastinfoset.sax,com.sun .xml.fastinfoset.stax,javax.annotation,javax.annotation.secu rity,javax.crypto,javax.crypto.interfaces,javax.crypto.spec, javax.imageio,javax.imageio.metadata,javax.imageio.stream,ja vax.jms,javax.management,javax.management.loading,javax.mana gement.modelmbean,javax.management.remote,javax.naming,javax .naming.directory,javax.naming.spi,javax.net,javax.net.ssl,j avax.rmi,javax.security.auth,javax.security.auth.callback,ja vax.security.auth.login,javax.security.auth.spi,javax.securi ty.auth.x500,javax.security.cert,javax.security.sasl,javax.s ql,javax.swing,javax.swing.event,javax.xml.datatype,javax.xm l.parsers,javax.xml.namespace,javax.xml.transform,javax.xml. transform.dom,javax.xml.transform.sax,javax.xml.transform.st ream,javax.xml.validation,javax.xml.xpath,org.jvnet.fastinfo set,org.jvnet.staxex,org.omg.CORBA,org.omg.CosNaming,org.w3c .dom,org.w3c.dom.bootstrap,org.w3c.dom.ls,org.w3c.dom.traver sal,org.xml.sax,org.xml.sax.ext,org.xml.sax.helpers,sun.misc ,sun.security.provider,org.omg.CORBA.TypeCodePackage,org.omg .CORBA.portable,org.omg.PortableServer,org.omg.PortableServe r.POAPackage,javax.swing.border,org.w3c.dom.events,org.w3c.d om.html,org.w3c.dom.range)

It seems that this is a general problem inside the engine as it always tries to find name-value pairs even though in case of JVMArgs that might not be relevant.

Could this be a bug and is there a known workaround ???

Cheers
Jürgen

Ok, I found the solution at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox_p2_Touchpoint_Instructions#V ariables_Available_in_all_phases Smile

I believe enhancing the Eclipse Product Configuration Editor would prevent such problems. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=303745
