I am using java.beans.BeanInfo to describe non-visual classes.

I need a way to specify where the BeanInfo is because the regular Introspector cannot seem to find them in a plug-in world.

I wrote a simple BeanInfoRegistry plugin that has an Extension point that links a class to its BeanInfo class. It seems to work well

Question: Am I reinventing the wheel? Is there an existing mechanism for locating bean info classes in the plugin world? I have seen some references to VE and widgets, but in this case my classes are non-visual.

If my registry plugin is useful should I contribute it?
