All,

I think some of the source files in my method library have been lost or
damaged between installations. I've checked in the method in SVN
(team->commit), checked them out on another machine and now get an error
message when opening some of the elements. (See see attached error
message when opening a deliverable).

I'm guessing one of the xmi files is broken. Does anyone know of a way
to fix this apart from deleting them (assuming i can, you never know in
a bugged situation) and recreating them? Obviously, I'm not waiting for
work to be redone..

When working with SVN for managing your libraries, you must be extremely careful. Actually, you have to simulate the check-out-and-lock principle with SVN server modifications, at least for the key files (i.e., the .xmi files). The SVN merge principle destroys your XMI files, so that the library cannot be used anymore (from my experience, but I didn't notice something else up to now...).

What you have to do basically:
- modify your SVN server, so that XMI files, when checked-out, get a lock.
- modify your SVN server, so that XMI files, when committed, are rejected as long as somebody else has a lock on them.
- use subclipse as SVN client (no Tortoise or something else non-eclipse-integrated).

Hope that helps you to avoid such problems in the future.
