I have been working my way through the tutorial at http://help.eclipse.org/ganymede/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclips e.emf.doc/tutorials/clibmod/clibmod.html

which guides to create an editor from an emf option. After succesfully generating the code, I am told:

•Select one of the projects and then choose "Run As/Eclipse Application" from the "Run" menu or toolbar drop-down

But I have no such option, and I don't see it as an option on "Run Configurations" either.

I am running eclipse Build id: 20090920-1017 Galileo

I have no idea how to proceed from here - any suggestions?

Ari,

What choices are in your "Run As" submenu?

When I try the "run as" on the projects that I created following the article, all I have is "Run Configurations" When I open that up all I have is:

JavaApplet
Java Application
JUnit
Task Context Test

Ari,

I don't know why all those other things are missing. I certainly can't
reproduce that problem and it sounds like more of a fundamental Eclipse
installation problem than anything EMF related. What else have you
installed? Is it possible that something, i.e., Mylyn, is filtering
your choices?

Problem solved!

The problem is that the installation of eclipse I was using didn't provide the PDE packages out of the box. Once installing it I got the option.

I got to that by posting a bug (bug Bug 299231 ) and if anyone hits the same problems there are some details there.
