Hi Committer reps,

I'm having trouble loading Europa and am having trouble finding the
official channels for reporting the problems I'm encountering:

1) Is there a cross-project bug bucket for Europa this year? I don't
see any top-level Bugzilla classifications that would make sense...:
Should I mail the Planning Council list?

BIRT: The BIRT Project: http://www.eclipse.org/birt/
DataTools: The DataTools Platform Project:
DSDP: The Device Software Development Platform:
Eclipse: The Eclipse Project - Eclipse SDK and Platform...
Eclipse Foundation: Community bugs
Modeling: The Modeling Project: http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/
STP: The SOA Tools Platform Project: http://www.eclipse.org/stp/
Technology: The Technology Project
Tools: The Tools Project - AJDT, AspectJ, CDT, EMF, GEF, PHP, VE,
UML2: http://www.eclipse.org/tools/
TPTP: The Test & Performance Tools Platform:
WebTools: The WebTools Project: http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/

2) I just tried to load Europa M7 via UM and ran into two difficulties:

A) If I just check all of Europa in UM, I get failed dependencies.

B) If I then remove the projects responsible for the failed
dependencies, everything downloads, the hard drive chatters, and then I
get a dialog saying simply "Update failed". No hint of what went wrong
and apparently no way to install Europa via UM.

Regards,

Dave Orme

David,

This is a good question that's best addressed by the planning council,
though I think the note should be posted to
cross-project-issues-dev@eclipse.org since more people are subscribed to
that and I would certainly expect all the planning council folks to see
a posting to that mailing list. It sounds like you are running into
some pretty serious issues! :-(

Note that Europa M7 isn't scheduled to be available until May 22nd:

you're seeing a combination of M6/M7?

Maybe. Although I tried because I thought I saw a message on the
Planning Council list (to which I'm still subscribed as a former project
lead) saying it was ready.

But a good point nonetheless.

Thanks,

Dave
