Project nature overlay won't be displayed [message #498278] Mon, 16 November 2009 10:11 Go to next message

I'm working on a RCP app. There I created a new project nature and it
will be applied correctly, means that the correct id appears in the
..project file. Then I registered a png file with that project nature in
the extension point org.eclipse.ui.ide.projectNatureImages to set an
overlay icon. My RCP app uses an extension of
org.eclipse.ui.navigator.CommonNavigator as project explorer to display
the projects in the workspace. Furthermore via extension point
org.eclipse.ui.navigator.navigatorContent a label provider exists. In
that label provider the large icons for every project will be specified.
Now the problem is that in the navigator only the large icons will be
displayed and not the overlay's. Can anybody explain me why?

Hi Wim,

I tried it but the same result. But does it make a difference (png and
gif)? Now I imagine that maybe first the overlay will be applied and
then the big icon from the label provider - is this possible?

Hi Gilbert,

Where do you expect the overlay to be visible? I would expect to see it in
the Package Explorer or Project Explorer. I don't think it will be visible in
your own navigator. I would assume that your labelprovider will provide the
images.

Best regards,

Wim
