hi;
I'm new with GMF, I used to use the dashboard to generate the graph, tool and mapping models, when I add a new node mapping or link mapping to the mapping model other than the automatically generated by the dashboard it doesn't appear in the canvas except after adding to the canvas a node that was automatically generated from the dashboard.

I checked some of the topics...but I'm not familiar with ocl to add constraints , I can't get it right

thank you

As far, as I am aware you can't change the content of the mapping model
from the dashboard. The dashboard is intended to help in the end-to-end
transformations towards plugin and code.

What I usually do is work from the .gmfmap file. All mutations in the
..gmftool, .gmfgraph and .ecore can be done from there and keeps all
nicely in sync.

Cheers Christophe.

I also tried to build my mapping model from scratch the same thing happens I cant drag and drop any node or link from the pallet to the canvas though these nodes and links are contained in the root

I don't know something wrong with the visibility, is there any feature that must be set or something like that ?

Well, being contained in the root doesn't mean these features are
configured properly. What could help is to look at your error log for
your app/plugin. You should find messages why nodes/links can't be created.

or post it here, perhaps we can quickly see the problem.

when I try adding nodes or transition
"execute" word appears in the application error log

and says under the plugin tab :
org.eclipse.gmf.runtime.diagram.ui

"execute" doesn't see a lot. I suggest you post your .gmfmap, .gmfgraph
