I used TPTP a year or so ago with Eclipse 3.3. I just installed it and it
worked great. I recently got a new (Windows XP) box and installed Eclipse
3.5.1. I downloaded the TPTP all in one zip and unpacked it into the
Eclipse folder. I

I am trying to profile a perspective I am writing, so I simply set up the
simplest defaults for the Monitor for the Workbench. But when I launch, I
see "Launching workbench (27%)" then nothing. A process is running, but no
workbench. This same procedure used to work fine.

Is there some new series of steps or procedures I am missing? If there are
any docs on the new procedures, that would be great.

TIA, Ric

SO this looks to be a known bug? 280841. I tried to revert to an older
build, but the servers seems to be completely stalled. I was getting
throughput of several hundred bytes a second. So either the servers are
swamped due to the new releases, there are server issues, or they have
switched to old 2400 baud modems to save money... :-)

Was the above bug supposed to have been fixed in 4.6.1? Bugzilla traffic is
unclear.

One additional bit of info. I did a clean install of 3.5.1, then 4.6.1 then
ran it in a new sandbox and tried the profiler. Worked fine. So it looks
like it doesn't like my old sandbox or something in it. I'll try populating
the new sandbox with the current projects to see which one it doesn't like.

BTW, I did try nuking the old trxcmi files in my old workspace but it made
no difference.

Has anyone seen behaviour like this?

Thanks,
Ric

Another bit of info. If I install 3.5.1 then 4.6.1 then install the Eclipse
XML Tools it doesn't work. As long as it is 3.5.1, then XML Tools, then
4.6.1 it does work. Seems like there is some incompatibility somewhere that
TPTP doesn't like in the XML Tools. And this is only in a new sandbox.
There is something about my old workspace it does not like.
