Can artefact versions be modelled using EPF? [message #49396] Wed, 16 April 2008 13:42

Hey Everyone,

I have a question regarding the handling of artefacts within EPF. I am
modelling a product derivation process within a SPL organisation. I have a
number of tasks

I have multiple tasks within a specific requirements handling phase. Each
task takes the output of the previous task as input. The artefact in
question (a requirements document), is essentially passed along within the
phase with each task making some change to the artefact. I am currently
handling the different 'versions' of this single artefact by creating
multiple copies and naming them XXXver0.1, XXXver0.2 etc, which each
artefact 'version' describing the change it has undergone.

Is there a better way of handling this? Is it a limitation of EPF or am I
taking the wrong approach?

Any advice, potential solutions, etc. greatly appreciateed,

Regards,
Pádraig
