Hello,
I would like to know is UML2 Tools is the right tool to desing a
database. I would like to draw my tables and the relations between them
using a graphical editor and then generate the SQL code from it.

Is this possible with UML2 Tools or am I on the wrong way ?

Thanks,
Tex

Hi Tex-Twil,

UML isn't the right notation for database modeling, except uml profile
from Rational Rose. But currently, I advice you Clay Database Modeling
(http://www.azzurri.jp/en/clay/index.html), a plugin to add to eclipse
(works with Ganymede), the only drawback is her license, it's not free,
but you can use it to design database and you have reverse engineering
existing database.

ok thanks but it doesn't seem to be supported on Linux. Are there any
other plugins for a database design on Linux ?

Tex

On MacOS X it works, then it should works on Linux. How do you have
installed this plugin by zip file or by update site?
What is the errors if you have it?

Regards.
