The Tools/Cobol Project had stopped for a long time. See other messages
in this group!

Although I know COBOL quite well. I have not used Eclipse's plugin. Nor
plan to. It seems that this project does not had any progress or
momentum. Reason: the last update was 3.0.0 Beta-2 from almost a year
ago. So not sure if it was just a novel idea from some mainframe COBOL
people to get involved on the PC and other OS's platforms because of
their COBOL skills. Sorry for my cynicism.

If you look at this newsgroup there are only 16 messages since
07/23/2003, more then 2 1/2 years. So my guess is that this project is
dead and should be dropped from Eclipse by the Eclipse upper management.

Why soil Eclipse's image.

That said, you can take a stab at it. Don't think you will get any
support. You need to download and install FUJITSU's NetCOBOL. Presently
it is at version 8. This is *not* a *free* product nor open source.

I am not sure what they price it at. You have to submit personal
information to that website before you can find out. To me this is a bad
sign.

Once you install NetCOBOL just download the Eclipse plugin and unzip
into the Eclipse base file structure.

NetCOBOL website: http://www.netcobol.com/products/windows

I do not think it "good enough" to just say that Eclipse has a plugin
for COBOL...

Thanks in Advance...
