Ah, that makes a bit more sense. :-)

As for masks, unfortunately you have to roll your own solution based on listeners. I would suggest that you check out the way that SwingWT does it in the swingwtx.swing.custom package. Rob implemented a validator similar to .NET's somewhere in there. Not exactly a mask, but it might give you someplace to start from.
