Trac Calendar, Schedule [message #42297] |

I would very much like to be able to share schedule information with
Mylyn/Trac.
I notice that there are a couple of plug-ins to add some kind of Calendar
functionality to Trac:
http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/WikiTicketCalendarMacro
With this plug-in, one has to add several custom fields in trac.ini:
[ticket-custom]
due_close = text
due_close.label = Due Date
due_close.value = MM/DD/YY
This got me wondering if there were any generic fields that I could add,
without necessarily requiring the installation of any plugins, that Mylyn
would recognise...?
There's also this plugin, but it doesn't seem to be being actively
developed:
http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/CalendarPlugin
I would be please to hear other thoughts on this.

Understood. I'm still relatively new to Trac, so I can't say with any
certainty which Calendar plugins, if any, are popular in Trac. However,
I'm scoping around TracHacks a bit, so it may become apparent to me in due
course. If and when that occurs, I'll file a bug, as you suggest.
The thought about using custom fields was just me thinking aloud. If there
is no dominant Calendar plug-in for Trac, it would be a relatively easy way
of significantly improving the functionality of Mylyn's Trac connector.
That said, I fully appreciate, and concur with, your desire to support
common repository configurations.
Many thanks for your reply.

No luck on existing Trac plug-ins. I raised this issue on the Trac Users'
mailing list, but this also failed to yield a positive outcome:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.version-control.subversio n.trac.general/18195
That being the case, I'm inclined to suggest that:
i) The functionality gets added to Mylyn's Trac Connector via custom fields.
ii) Once the names of those custom fields are established, a proposal is
made for a Trac plug-in that would automatically add those fields to a Trac
environment.
If anyone wants to chip in, now would be a good time. Otherwise I'll just
go ahead a file a feature request, as previously suggested.

The deafening silence makes me think that I'm either asking this in the
wrong forum, or it's a dumb question.
If it's the former, where should I ask questions like this?
If it's the latter, then I apologise. I'm new to Mylyn, Trac, and this
forum.
