In version 4.0.1 of TPTP (tptp.sdk-TPTP-4.0.1-200510031151.zip) and version
2.1.0 of EMF I could not find the datapool jar files specified in the help
documentation:

a..
[ECLIPSE_HOME]/plugins/org.eclipse.hyades.models.common_3.0. 0/common_model.jar
b..
[ECLIPSE_HOME]/plugins/org.eclipse.hyades.test.datapool_3.0. 0/datapool_api.jar
c.. [ECLIPSE_HOME]/plugins/org.eclipse.emf.ecore_2.0.0/runtime/e core.jar
d.. [ECLIPSE_HOME]/plugins/org.eclipse.emf.common_2.0.0/runtime/ common.jar
I have only been able to find the first two files in version 3.3.0 of hyades
(hyades.runtime_3.3.0_20050623_2150), and the EMF jar files in version
2.0.0.

Does this mean that the method for accessing a datapool has changed?

Or, should the jar files be included with version 4.0.1 of TPTP and 2.1.0 of
EMF? If this is the case then please can you either include the jars with
the installation zip files, or provide a link to them on the download pages.
Or even better make the addition of the files part of the update process.

Thanks,

David Murley

Hi David,

Since 4.0 all the TPTP models code was merged into
plugins/org.eclipse.tptp.platform.models/tptp-models.jar, this JAR file
includes also the data pool API.

Please open a defect regarding the help documentation that specifies the
datapool jar file, it needs to be updated to reflect the real structure.

Regards,
Marius

For anyone else with the same problem, I found the following worked for me.

Jar Files for using datapools in TPTP 4.0.1:

[ECLIPSE_HOME]\plugins\org.eclipse.core.runtime_3.1.0.jar

[ECLIPSE_HOME]\plugins\org.eclipse.emf.common_2.1.0.jar

[ECLIPSE_HOME]\plugins\org.eclipse.emf.ecore_2.1.0.jar

[ECLIPSE_HOME]\plugins\org.eclipse.tptp.platform.models_4.0. 0\tptp-models.jar

Also the string for opening the datapool iterator should be:

" org.eclipse.hyades.datapool.iterator.DatapoolIteratorSequent ialPrivate "

Not as listed in the help documentation:

" org.eclipse.hyades.datapool.DatapoolIteratorSequentialPrivat e "

David opened defect https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=116634
against the 4.0.1 version. 116634 is scheduled to be fixed in the proposed
4.0.2 stream.

Luiza, can you tell me which file that you're looking at in the 4.1.0
stream? The file that I thought that this stream was discussing was
deleted in 4.1.0 (org.eclipse.hyades.test.doc.user/tasks/taccessdp.htm).
1. Right-click on the "Accessing a datapool from a Hyades test" in
the Contents,
2. Select "Properties"
3. Copy and paste the Address(URL) and post it in this thread.

For those who want a sneak peek, here's the link to a new file in the
4.1.0 stream that explains how to work with datapools. The "Accessing a
datapool from a Hyades test" topic was deleted and completely rewritten as
a tutorial:
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/*checkout*/test/org .eclipse.hyades.test.doc.user/samples/saccessdp.htm?rev=1.5& amp;cvsroot=TPTP_Project

TPTP recognizes the importance of good documentation. We started an
initiative in TPTP 4.1 to put the documentation through some rigorous
testing. All documentation now goes through a "step through" once per
release after the UI is frozen; a person reads the topic and follows its
steps exactly to see if anything needs to be updated. That test is how we
realized that this topic needed to be updated. I'm not saying that the
docs are perfect - they're a work in progress just as the TPTP code is --
but we take reports of problems in the documentation seriously. Please
open bugzillas for defects that you find, enhancements for documentation
that you'd like to have, and continue to post your questions about
documentation on this newsgroup.

Thank you for reporting the problem.

--Ruth.
