Perforce plugin causes project build failure [message #38485]

I have a customer who upgraded their Perforce server and the associated
plugin for WebSphere Studio Application Developer. Now a "Build All" on
a project fails, either silently or with exception:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.eclipse.team.core.Team: method
isIgnoredHint(Lorg/eclipse/core/resources/IResource;)Z not found

Anyone ever heard of something like this?
