STP Getting started [message #374122] Tue, 24 July 2007 22:10 Go to next message

Hi,

I'm trying to follow the "STP Service Creation getting started" guide at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/STP_Service_Creation_getting_started but can't
get Eclipse to automagically generate the wsdl files as it seems to do
so in the Flash movie demo. When I save the interface the wsdl folder is
created but there's no wsdl file in it. Any ideas?

I'm using:

* Eclipse 3.3.0 with SOA installed from Europa Discovery site
* Apache CXF runtime (apache-cxf-2.0-incubator.zip)
* Apache CXF Eclipse plug-in 2.0.0 from
http://people.apache.org/~jliu/updatesites/cxf
* Apache Tuscany runtime (apache-tuscany-sca-0.91-incubating.zip)
* Apache Tuscany Eclipse plug-in 1.0.0 from
http://people.apache.org/~jliu/updatesites/tuscany

TIA,
Matt

Hi Matt,
Can you see if any errors in your log view from (Windows->Show View->PDE
Runtime
->Error Log)?

Thanks

Johnson

Hello,

I should admit that I faced precisely the same issue with the official
release of Europa and STP. I double-checked my log file and what I
noticed that there had been some error messages logged, implying that
the Apache CXF 2.0 plug-in could not have been resolved.

I am quite sure that it must have come from the update site (as Matt
states below).

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Emil

Hi Matt,

From the log file, the apache cxf plugin is not loaded for unknown reason.
To solve those kind of environment problems, we created an stp-all-in-one
zip.

That zip file contains stp plugins and all its dependencies (including wtp,
dtp, gmf, cxf... plugins).

You can copy it to your Eclipse 3.3 installation and try those jaxws
functions.

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/stp/down loads/drops/I-I200707260606-200707260606/stp-all-in-one-I-I2 00707260606-200707260606.zip

Regards

Johnson

Hi Johnson,

I downloaded the zip and added this to my Eclipse 3.3 extensions. I
then created a JAX-WS project, added an interface. However i am unable
to add any annotations to either the method or the interface. There are
no errors logged in the error Log view.

However when i restart eclipse, the following gets logged.
Any ideas ?

thanks

Hi Johnson,

I noticed that when i create a new JAX-WS Web Service project it gives
a warning dialog " You must specify a valid installation location for
your selected runtime provider in JAX-WS preferences"

I have specified 'org.apache.cxf_2.1-incubator-SNAPSHOT" in the
preferences for Apache CXF.

The resulting project shows Java Nature ( icon for project has a J)
and not a SOA Tools Nature.

thanks,
chandra

Hi Matt,
Can you see if any errors in your log view from (Windows->Show View->PDE

Thanks

Hello,

I should admit that I faced precisely the same issue with the official
release of Europa and STP. I double-checked my log file and what I
noticed that there had been some error messages logged, implying that
the Apache CXF 2.0 plug-in could not have been resolved.

I am quite sure that it must have come from the update site (as Matt
states below).

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Emil

Hi Matt,

From the log file, the apache cxf plugin is not loaded for unknown reason.
To solve those kind of environment problems, we created an stp-all-in-one
zip.

That zip file contains stp plugins and all its dependencies (including wtp,
dtp, gmf, cxf... plugins).

You can copy it to your Eclipse 3.3 installation and try those jaxws
functions.

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/stp/down loads/drops/I-I200707260606-200707260606/stp-all-in-one-I-I2 00707260606-200707260606.zip

Regards

Johnson

Hi Johnson,

I downloaded the zip and added this to my Eclipse 3.3 extensions. I
then created a JAX-WS project, added an interface. However i am unable
to add any annotations to either the method or the interface. There are
no errors logged in the error Log view.

However when i restart eclipse, the following gets logged.
Any ideas ?

thanks

Hi Johnson,

I noticed that when i create a new JAX-WS Web Service project it gives
a warning dialog " You must specify a valid installation location for
your selected runtime provider in JAX-WS preferences"

I have specified 'org.apache.cxf_2.1-incubator-SNAPSHOT" in the
preferences for Apache CXF.

The resulting project shows Java Nature ( icon for project has a J)
and not a SOA Tools Nature.

thanks,
chandra
