When I create a bugzilla query, it orders the tasks seemingly at random in
the task list. Presumably there's some order, but I dont' see it. I
really prefer to sort by the id of the task, so I can see the bugs in
chronological order. How can I do that?

Through the Task List view menu you can choose Sort by > Summary or
Date Created to get the desired order.
