Dear JWT project members,
I am pleased to learn about your proposed project. I would like to add the
Eclipse Application Lifecycle Framework (ALF) project to your list of
touchpoints. The ALF project is about integrating development tools via
orchestration. ALF employs BPEL and web services to synchronize and
coordinate tools. So ALF is a natural consumer of BPEL processes that can
be developed by JWT users and a natural target for deploying those
processes. ALF supports BPEL engines in general, though we use
ActiveEndpoints open source BPEL engine as an example engine in demos. I'd
like to encourage you to take a look at ALF and ActiveEndpoints (as an
example) as potential deployment targets.
There is some discussion on the JWT newsgroup on the interface with STP.
Conceptually, there would appear to be much synergy (and overlap) between
JWT and those two STP efforts. It would be useful to clarify that
intersection before or during the Creation Review next week.
I see some connection between the Eclipse Process Framework (EPF) and JWT,
at least at the conceptual level, since both represent process. I suggest a
touchpoint with EPF, perhaps to determine how to map an EPF process into a
BPMN representation (if that would make sense).
Finally, there is a new project called Kepler which is addressing team and
human workflow. It would be useful to understand the potential connections
with Kepler.
Regards,
Brian
