Hi,
I'm working with eclipse 3.7 since about a month now but I switched to eclipse 4 due to the event system. But I can't really start since my application model doesn't work. It's probably a stupid mistake but since I already wasted a couple of hours and a lot more brain cells on it, I'll try it here.
This is what I did (about a million times):
start eclipse 4.2 (it's not SR1, but I will come to that issue later) with "E4 CSS Spy" and "Eclipse e4 Tools" installed. Next I choose File - new - other - Eclipse 4 - Eclipse 4 Application Project. I leave everything as it is (except for the name) and I don't generate an activator. Then I select the product and launch an Eclipse application. I close the application, open the Application.e4xmi file and change the size of the trimmed window, save, restart the application with "launch an eclipse application" and nothing changed.
I know, my description is probably far to detailed, but it's so simple that I can't imagine doing a mistake somewhere.
Why I didn't use 4.2 SR1:
When I start Eclipse there pop up two error messages:
"egit could not detect where git is installed"
and
"The HOME variable was not set".
As far as I can tell, I don't need Git since its for some reposetory stuff. And if I'm wrong, if it must be installed, why doesn't it come with Eclipse?
I hope you can help me, I'm really stuck.
Thanks
Aljo
