Problem with adding AspectJ nature to imported plugin [message #65828] Sat, 17 June 2006 21:42 Go to previous message

Hi,

I've imported the plugin org.eclipse.jdt.junit as binary project with
linked content. When I try to convert it to an AspectJ project using the
context menu (AspectJ tools -> Converto AspctJ Project), I receive the
following message:

"Operation cannot be performed because one or more resources belong to a
binary plug-in project that contains linked resources.
To be able to modify binary project resources, re-import it by copying
the content into the workspace".

The message is right, but I don't understand why. It worked for
org.eclise.search plugin.

What is the reason of the problem that causes AspectJ to fail?
Can I bypass it somehow, and still work with linked content?

Thank you in advance,
Michael
